I will do anything to beat this cancer. I will try any drug, any new therapy, any surgery.
But I draw the line at kale. No way, no how.
A stage IV colon cancer survivor recently told me that she fought cancer through food. Drugs, too, of course, but she puts a lot of stock into the healing powers of food. She told me about this practice called Integrative Medicine where the doctor tests your blood for every allergen under the sun, and anything you are even a teeny bit allergic to, you cut out of your diet. Inflammation feeds tumors, she said. Eat clean, eat healthy, eat to your own gut. I totally buy it.
But I won’t eat kale.
